Where a cover helps

  • Across a path or patio, so nobody trips and nothing wheels over the bare lead.
  • Along a wall, clipped at intervals, out of the way of the mower and the bins.
  • Never trapped under ballast blocks, a gate or a door.

What it isn't

It isn't an extension. The kit plugs straight into a weatherproof outdoor socket within its own 4m lead, with no extension leads, cable reels or adaptors.

If your socket is too far from the sunny spot, an electrician can fit a weatherproof outdoor socket with modern RCD protection nearer to it.

Questions about cable covers

Can I bury the lead instead?

Don't bury it or run it under paving. Keep it where you can see it, in a cover or clipped along a wall.

Do you sell longer leads?

No. Plug-in kits must plug straight into a socket with the lead they came with. A nearer outdoor socket, fitted by an electrician, is the answer if yours is too far.
