Why we stick to storage and kit care

Newcastle Solar Shop is a new shop. We're starting with a short list: portable power stations, standalone home backup batteries and a few accessories for people who already own a plug-in solar kit.

What we stock, and what we won't

Coming soon: portable power stations and the folding panels that charge them, standalone home backup batteries, ballast for ground-mount kit frames, and covers for a kit's own lead.

Never: extension leads, adaptors, inverters, extra panels, or balcony and roof mounts. We also never sell a battery to use with a plug-in solar kit, because the rules don't allow it.

How we'll check every spec

No model goes on sale until we've read its datasheet and filled in every row of our spec sheet from it. Where a maker doesn't state a figure, we'll say so rather than guess.

Our running-time tables use one planning figure, 85% of the stored energy reaching the sockets, until a model's own tested figure replaces it.
