The specification

The supplier isn't chosen yet. The weight is fixed by the kit maker's instructions; the other rows get real figures before we sell a block.

Every block at least 18kg. That's 36kg, 90kg or 180kg in all.

Near the coast or up on the hills, plan for the higher numbers. The accessory finder works it out for your kit.

Placing them

  • On the stand's lower plates, shared between both sides.
  • Cables on top of the blocks, never trapped underneath.
  • Keep blocks clear of the microinverter.
  • Level, firm ground. Check them after a storm.

Questions about ballast

Why don't kits come with ballast?

Blocks are heavy to send, and the number you need depends on the wind where you live. So the kit comes without, and you add what your spot needs.

Can I use something else?

Use what the maker's manual asks for: dense blocks of at least 18kg each. For anything else, ask the kit's maker first.

I have a hybrid kit on the ground. How many?

The maker's ground table doesn't cover the hybrid stand. Ask us and we'll get the maker's figure for your kit before you set it up.
